Hard to believe that with just a handful of items from the craft department, you can transform your Winter White Potted Pine Tree into an adorable, fluffy Easter bunny. Easter is one of my favorite holidays to decorate for and this bunny tree might be one of my proudest decorating moments. Let me show you how easy it is to make your own.
Adding eyeshadow to your Easter bunny eyes.
I started with eyes for my bunny. Did you know you can buy giant googley eyes? I wanted my bunny to be a girl so I added some lime green eyeshadow and lashes. For the eyeshadow, I used washi tape to get a straight line and added two coats of green craft paint. Once the green was dry, I went in with a black paint marker and added eyeliner and lashes. The eyes fit right into the branches of the tree.
Felt ears really make the tree into an Easter Bunny.
The ears really make this tree a bunny. These ears on a headband are easy to find almost anywhere this time of year. I tried to get the largest pair I could find. I love how they peek out of the nook.
A quick trip to the craft store transforms your tree into an Easter Bunny!
This little gal needed a nose and whiskers. I stuck 6 white pipe cleaners into each side to act as whiskers. One giant pink pompom fit perfectly as the nose. My tree was starting to look more and more like a bunny rabbit!
Where will you put your Easter tree?
When I first saw my house, one of the many reasons I knew it had to be mine was because of what I call my Christmas tree nook. I have a different tree in the nook all year ’round celebrating a different holiday. My bunny rabbit fit in perfectly here. Every time I walk down the hall, my giant bunny is staring back at me. Don’t have your own nook? A table or book shelf works fine, too.
It is easy to change up the base of your tree seasonally.
I love my white bunny, but she needed a pop of color. The base of this tree is easy to change up with the help of a pot, blanket or in this case a large Easter basket. I also added some colorful paper Easter grass around the base.
